Stutton Young Explorers with Forest School Provision : Ofsted rated - Good

Stutton Young Explorers (SYE) is located in the village of  Stutton on the Shotley peninsula and opens 7.00 am to 6 pm.

Having acquired this setting in 2017, it has been replaced with a new build and garden play facilities.  SYE offers Nursery, Wrap Around Care and Forest School

Stutton has achieved ‘Good’ across all areas in the latest Ofsted inspection of 2024.

At SYE we take children from 4 months old and offer a friendly and stimulating environment, promoting learning through play while following the EYFS.

We have a key person system that gives each child and parent a specific key person to relate to.

Due to the vast amount of space we have within the school grounds we have a focus on outdoor learning and invite the children to come outside to learn through play and explore the world they inhabit.

The physical outdoor environment provides a special stage for action and can stimulate children’s imaginations and engage their sense of curiosity as they explore their physical surroundings and learn in ways beyond what they can experience indoors.  This experience is not a duplicate of what is learnt inside but an extension of it, the children enjoy “free-flow” between the inside and outside space.

Stutton also offers a popular Forest School Provision in a local protected woodland area
